Private Schools
Choosing the right school for your child can be an overwhelming experience and requires careful planning and preparation. The first thing to consider is the unique needs of the student. We will look for private schools that have the same goals and beliefs as your child and family. Not every student is the same.
We will do research until you are comfortable with everything that you know about the school(s) we will be recommending.
We will ask you to make a list of all the “wants” you would like a school to have. If your child is athletic you would want to look for a school with a great athletic program, what about foreign languages, is your child interested in pursuing a specific passion? We will help find a school that will let them explore that passion. Do they like animals, the ocean, or the mountains? Are they talented in drama or arts? Do you want your child to attend a school with more or less than 400 children? What type of religious affiliation do they have? There are even schools out there with special diets offered.
Once we have a short list of possible schools we will TOUR THE SCHOOL with the child and family if possible. (Most private schools require this) and find out everything there is to know about the school. You can get a first hand look at what goes on, talk with staff and students alike.
Why Private Schools
Among the ever mounting worry of raising children, parents ultimately want to do the best thing for their children in every aspect of their life. For some, this means deciding whether or not they should attend a private school. This decision is based on more than financial responsibility. Although public schools are basically free and there are some out there with wonderful academic programs, money is not the ultimate factor when deciding if a private school is right for their student or not.
The majority of parents believe that if their child attends a private school, they have a better chance of getting in to the college of their choice. It is believed that attending a private school means that a student will receive a better education, with stronger academic curriculum and more one on one teacher interaction due to low student/teacher ratios. Ultimately, the child will be better prepared for the University/ College level curriculum.
Another strong desire is to have their students academics centered around a particular religious belief, instilling morals and values along with learning the traditional ABCs. Even more so, parents get a certain sense of comfort knowing that their child is out of the hazards of the public world, safe and secure on a private campus where a strong moral character develops and helps watch over their child.
One of the strongest selling points for a private school is the type of curriculum that they offer. Finding new and innovative ways to teach and things to teach about are a private schools specialty. They are not obligated to follow the strict guidelines that a public school must follow and there is also a stronger connection between school administration and family due to the fact the only people a private school deals with are the parents of the students who attend their school. This leaves more time to really get to know each other and be able to give more personal attention to each child.
